Editor's Guide - Introduction

The system Ω-ΨR has been developed at Institute of Computer Science of the Warsaw University of Technology. The first implementation was carried out in 2013 at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of Warsaw University of Technology. As a result of development work, the repository became an integral part of the Knowledge Base System (KBS). The concept and technical design of the KBS were created within the framework of the SYNAT research task - OMEGA-PSIR proprietary software, authored by the Institute of Computer Science of WEiTI. Within the years 2013-2015 the system evolved towards a combination of CRIS type system and Institutional Repository.

This manual has been developed for the needs of the editors, who are responsible for maintaining the database.

Other aspects of KBS use are described in the separate documents:

Acknowledgement: The first version of the manual (in Polish) was created in 2011 as part of the SYNAT project. Subsequent improvements to the manual were made as part of the system's development by teams from the Main Library of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Institute of Computer Science of the Warsaw University of Technology.

The system and the available manual (as well as other instructional and supporting materials) were subject of improvements made over the years 2011-2023 thanks to:

  1. financial subsidies from the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology

  2. annual contributions from over twenty universities and scientific institutes for the development of the system,

  3. financing of projects related to the implementation of the system in some universities and research units, implemented in the chronological order of project implementation:
