Patents
In the Patents Section, you can enter descriptions of the following objects:
inventions
registered industrial designs
registered topographies of integrated circuits
trademarks
Before you start entering data, check whether a given record is not already registered in the database. More in chapters Searching with the query form Entering a new record
The form allows you to document the process of applying for patent protection, from application to granting or rejection of a patent/protective right.

Basic information
Fields characterizing inventions and other categories of protected items at a general level are collected here.
Mandatory to complete are, among others: Patent/right status and Subject of property protection. When you hover your cursor over these fields, suggestions on how to complete them appear.
Patent/Right Status

When hovering the cursor over Subject of property protection, information about the rules for scoring points for individual protected subjects appears.
Alternatively, the field Name of the invention/design/work either in the main language or in English is mandatory.
Application
We fill it out conditionally - only when we have a confirmed patent application.
If the Application Number field is filled in (in the first application country above), you must complete the data in the Application Date field (in the first application country above).
At least one of the fields Applicant (owner) of a patent from the your University or Applicant (owner) of a patent from outside the your university must be completed. These are fields in which you enter the patent holder - a specific entity. If the entity entitled to the patent is a person and not an institution, the Local applicant (co-inventor) field must also be completed.
Patent/Law
When protection is obtained, we provide data on the granted patent or protection right.
The Patent/right number field and the conditionally obligatory field Date of granting (decision) must be completed.
In the evaluation regulation, the key date is the date of publication in the Patent Office News and this date should also be completed. This date is entered in the Patent/design publication field.
In the Representative field, enter the details of the spokesman representing a given entity entitled to a patent.
If a given invention or design has been implemented, all fields related to its implementation should be completed. Otherwise, leave the fields blank.
Descriptions
It contains information characterizing the content of the patent. Description fields are alternatively mandatory in Polish or English. The content of the patent is also characterized by keywords in Polish and English, scientific discipline taken from the index, classification symbols of the International Patent Classification and the MeSH classification.
International Registration
Data is provided here only regarding patents filed and protected under the international procedure of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

References to patent documentation can be entered here, e.g. if the invention protected by the patent was the result of a project or was described in a given publication, or if it is an additional patent in relation to another patent.
