A single event describes an occurrence within a seminar. A seminar is a series of events scheduled over a period of time (usually a semester).

Users can access the events

  1. From the main menu, Dissemination of Science option, Events function.

  2. From the profile of the unit organizing the seminar (faculty, institute, department).

For option (1), calling the events function leads to a screen with simple search functionality:

Events are sorted by event date. In the search field, you can ask a question supported by a standard text search. It can be the keyword(s) defining the topic, or the terms found in the title, in the description (abstract).

The filters on the left side of the screen allow you to further limit your response to events:

  1. planned in the near future

  2. single, or organized as part of a series (e.g., departmental seminars)

  3. local, or marked as international (with a lecturer from abroad, or addressed to foreign listeners)

  4. with a given speaker

  5. organized by the indicated scientist

In addition, by selecting specific units in the affiliation tree, it is possible to narrow the search results to events organized at specific units.

If a user is interested in a specific event, he can access the event description by clicking on the event title, then the system shows a screen as shown in the figure below. The user can generate and download an ics file to his computer, which can be imported into his own calendar (1). He can also send an email to the speakers (2).

In case you are interested in other events in the series, you have the option to switch to the series view (3). The event series view is discussed below.
