Profiles of the University units
The unit’s profile is built in order to showcase all kinds of the research achievements of the unit. It contains contact data, a cloud of tags to illustrate the research scope of the researchers affiliated at the unit, and number of bookmarks (tabs). The main tab contains a summary of the achievements and a decription of the unit, then there are tabs for the achievements, like publications, research data (deposited in the university repository or outside), patents. There is also a tab presenting the research potential of the unit by means of projects, and research infrastructure (equipment). The multimedia tab shows the multimedia material that provides an additional illustration of research performed at the unit. Optionally there is a possibility to present seminars organized by the unit, as well as provide access to the materials of the past seminars.
Three other important bookmarks - statistics, cooperation of the researchers and institutional cooperation visualize the achievements in an aggregated form. The statistics tab shows some basic statistics (quantitative and qualitative) for the publications, distributed over disciplines or subunits.
The cooperation of the researchers may be used to identify unformal cooperation teams, and possibly use it for optimizing the internal structure of the unit. The tab visualizing cooperation with external institutions shows the partners of the unit.
Drilling down on the map one can see details of the cooperation with a given partner institution. The profile of partnering institution shows a link to the RoR.org database, additionally it presents the number of common projects, and publications. One can also identify cooperating researchers on both sites. For the common publications one can see reports, e.g. showing the distribution of research over research areas, faculties, etc.
