The Knowledge Base allows you to enter information about conferences:

The conference event records can be used in bibliographic records, in particular to indicate the conference in conference materials (proceedings)

This chapter discusses descriptions of conference events.

Before you start entering data, check whether a given record is not already registered in the database.

However, to obtain a complete description, it is worth completing as many fields as possible

  • The Start Date and End Date fields should be selected from the calendar available om the worksheet

  • The Country field is filled in from the index

  • the remaining fields must be entered manually

The system supports a special index of conference titles (see Conference series index), where the serial conference titles can be stored. It is especially useful, if the university applies a scoring system rewarding publications from selected series. In such a case, in the Conference title one can select a title from the list, which will result in scoring publications from the conference event.

If an event record is created from the publication description level, when saving it, check the box: Is the given record new, should I enter it into the main list? It will be remembered in the index.
