Downloading files and reading in the browser

Files attached to records can be downloaded or - in the case of PDF files - read in a browser as long as they have been assigned the appropriate access rights. If the files deposited in the system are available for download, there is an appropriate icon in the short description in the lower right corner of the snippet.

To get the access to the file one has to click on the title and open full description of the bibliographic record. Files available for download have colored icons in the detailed description of the record.

Files that have been deposited with a restricted access (cannot be downloaded) have a gray icon; when you hover over it, information is displayed that the file is not publicly available.

There are additional buttons next to files available for download:

“Read” - allows you to open PDF files in the system's built-in browser

“Meets WCAG requirements” - the button appears if the file meets WCAG requirements. If the user notices a problem with the file, he/she can report it using the button

“Request a WCAG file” - appears for files that do not meet WCAG requirements. Using this button, you can report to the editor the need to use such a version

The downloaded PDF files include a certifying page, containing information about the institution (university) providing the file and its logo, as well as a short description of the record along with information about the license.

Including a cover page depends on the publicationPdf.titlePage switch. Due to accessibility rules, the label is not created for files that meet WCAG requirements.

A watermark may be added to downloaded files - text added on each page:
