Forwarding the record for re-editing

Forwarding the record for re-editing

From a formal point of view, when an author ends depositing a record/version, and submits the record/version for verification, the system checks whether all mandatory fields are present in the record. However, since the content of the fields is not verified by the system, the substantive correctness of the metadata is verified by the data-steward. The steward's check should consist in verifying the correctness of all links (URL), licenses assigned to files, related projects (e.g., whether they correspond to the actual state), check consents and permissions, statements, etc. It may also turn out that for a specific case of deposited data, fields that in general are not obligatory, they should be entered.

As a result of verification of the record/version, the steward may forward the deposited record/version for re-editing in case he/she has comments as to the content of the completed fields.

To do this, one should:

  1. enter from the editor's panel to edit the versified record

  2. enter remarks in the Editor' s/Steward 's Remarks field

  3. select Check for correctness button

  4. when the screen as shown below appears, select the Save and return to author button for re-editing by the author
